I have only been a published author for less than a year, but I have learned to pay attention to what I’m reading.  I am currently reading a cozy mystery series published by a non Solstice Publisher by an author not to be named. I can’t decide if the editor or the author needs to go back to school, but this series has me realizing that I am a writing snob. In book one a character was called Henry, but in book 2 the name was changed to Frank. It was clearly the same character.  Now they used the word “break” which would never be applied like a “brake” to stop a car. Sloppy editing. The fact that I’ve noticed moves me into the group of writing snobs. As long as I don’t make the same type of errors, I’ll be good.
