This week is the Honey Grove Quilt Hop, and Mom is the coordinator. The Hop is part of the Bonham, TX Quilt Hop. Mom explained that there will be 10 places in the two towns that will display quilts owned by people in the area. Some of them are new, machine stitched and others are100% hand stitched. Mom likes to take tops that have been hand pieced a long time ago, assemble the top, the back, and the soft stuff in the middle, and then hand stitch the parts together. She often lets me lay on the parts. I like the soft stuff in the middle.
People have come to the house all week to bring her quilts to display. She puts them in the dinning room and then closes the door. She won’t let me test the softness of any of them! Next up she types on the computer and then prints a sheet to put with each quilt. After she is done with that, and if it isn’t raining, she takes the stacks of quilts to the van. All of this means she is too busy to hold me. I have told her that is not acceptable, but I don’t think she listens. She did say that she would let me put pictures of the quilts on my blog once the Hop is over. I don’t care about pictures. I want to smell those quilts and find the softest one for my nap!
