Part 75 – Thunder & Lightning

Like the silly dog, Missy, I don’t really like to hear those loud cracks of thunder when it is quickly followed by the flash of lightning. A long time ago, Mom explained that the noise followed quickly by the flash means that the storm is very close. When that happens, she often shuts down her computer. Our electricity doesn’t go off for very long, but she doesn’t like those fast flicks on and off. Before she shuts it down, she takes a few minutes to email her work in progress from one email account to another (I think she has too many of those.) She says she remembers losing lots of programming work when a power surge fried the hard drive in her old XT computer. I don’t have a clue what any of that means, but 40 years later, it still upsets her.

That thunder and lightning also means that we will get lots of rain. Sophia and I won’t be able to play out on our leads. I love to go out and have a little grass salad. When I do that, I may throw it up again. Mom worries about that. I did a lot of that when I had that tumor in my throat. For now, I feel just fine. I think mom’s just like to worry. It might be better if she just worries about her computer.
