On Friday, Mom announced that she has finally finished writing Book # 6. I don’t know what the big deal is. She has had five other published. There are boxes of unsold books in the guest room. I do understand that this means, for a while at least, she will no longer be talking to her computer. I know she uses a headset that she talks into and the words appear on her screen. She has been known to yell at me when I think that headset would work much better after I push it off her desk and onto the floor. She yelled that she didn’t want to have to buy a new one. I tried to explain that the first one wasn’t of very good quality or it would not have broken that easily. She doesn’t really have to worry because this one is better made. Of course she thought the head phones that she sometimes uses for the TV were pretty good too until I showed her how easily they came apart when they bounced off the floor.
Now she will start the editing on this book. This is when we argue about where I can sit. I like to sit in front of her keyboard where I can clearly see the screen. I like to watch the little box move as the computer reads the book to her. She stops the box and pushes me out of the way to use the keyboard. I keep telling her that since she does not have a cat in the story, it is not as good as it could be. She did put me in Book #1, but hasn’t done that since. Silly woman.
