First I have to say that Mom did it again! She totally forgot what day of the week it was. I tried to tell her that making my blog post in a timely manner was more important than mailing her holiday cards, but no. She made two trips to the post office and then forgot all about me! So this is a day late. It is still important, at least to me.
I have shared my love of Mom’s store bought fried chicken. I also enjoyed bites of the Thanksgiving turkey. I was not a fan of the cranberry relish, but that is my own fault. Mom didn’t offer it to me. I did take a bite from her plate when she wasn’t watching her sandwich made with leftover turkey. Last week I did the same thing with a bite of Dad’s steak dinner. I’m not a professional food thief, but I am getting more practice.
Today Mom was slicing the extra ham off the bone. I watched as she made 4 vacuum sealed bags. That left her with small pieces before she put the bone in a pot with water. She gave me a small piece to taste. I gobbled it down faster than Missy could with the piece that fell on the floor. That small piece was followed by a dozen more. It was sooo good. If I had known that I liked ham, I would have been helping Dad eat his ham sandwiches that he has fixed for his lunch. Know what is the very best part about eating pieces of ham? Mom can’t stir my medicine into it! Sometimes a cat just needs to take a break from the worry about health. Now my tummy is full. It might be time for a nap in the sunshine. I might even let Sophia join me.
