One of the difficult things about trying to schedule book launch events is the timing of book shipments. When I order an item from Amazon, I can expect delivery in two days or maybe five days if it is coming straight from the supplier. With books for a launch or book tour, they may arrive in two weeks or it might be six weeks. I don’t even receive an estimated delivery date. I can’t schedule an event before I have books in hand.

Because we have had almost daily thunderstorms, I have needed to stay close to home as I waited for my shipment of 100 copies of Saving Mr Johnson. The boxes are heavy. I know that the delivery will be just on the edge of the front porch steps. The thunderstorms mean those steps can be a very wet location. I could just imagine 100 wet books!

They arrived yesterday on a dry porch step! Now those boxes are stacked safely in the guest room.
