  • Part 101 – Zoomies!

The kitten is still here. Dad has named her Miko. I think that means that he plans to keep her. I still hate her, although I don’t growl or hiss at her as much as I had. She doesn’t seem to care. She wears me out just watching her. She has the Zoomies for hours on end. Our house has a long hallway with the living room in the front and the family room at the other end. She likes to race from the front door to Dad’s chair in the family room, turn around and race back again. Missy likes to bark at her when Miko runs past, but she rarely even slows down. I can just picture what it will be like on our trip. The van has a hallway but it really isn’t designed for her to race around. I have no idea how Mom can wear that silly cat out so we can all sleep at night. I really don’t think Mom and Dad thought this through.

  • Part 102 – Trouble

Mom has had her hand full lately. She and Dad got their Covid booster on Sunday while they were doing their grocery shopping. While they were gone, I just watched Miko, the cat, race around the house. She still has the zoomies. Missy loved that when Miko’s jumped from one place to another, she knocked my bowl of food to the floor. There was cat food everywhere, and Missy was quick to gobble it all up.

Tuesday, Mom and Dad were still recovering from the tired feeling and sore arm they get from that shot. Miko found a new way to cause trouble. She decided that the papers on the counter would make a good place to pee!!!! What self respecting cat would do such a thing? Mom spent an hour cleaning. It probably needed to be deep cleaned, because it is a section that seems to just collect stuff, but still.

Wednesday morning Miko used the old quilt Mom is working on. Mom quickly blotted up the wet and used My Pet Peed spray on it. (She used that a lot when Missy was a baby.) She then washed that section and hung it out to dry. Mom called the vet to get Miko in for a checkup. I’m not sure what UTI means, but that is what she told Dad when they got home. Miko got a shot, and also got her ears cleaned. She complained to me about having that thing pushed up her butt to check her temperature. Serves her right. That adventure seemed to have tired Mom out, so I didn’t even remind her about my blog post.

Today, Miko killed her first glass of water. She pushed it off the counter. There was glass and water everywhere! I love to push things off the table in the living room, but I’m smart enough to not push a glass of water! I will admit that to do so is quite an accomplishment for a kitten weighing in at 4.2 lbs! If she is 6 months old (per the vet), that means it will only get worse for at least the next 3 months. After that, we all hope she settles down. She has her moments of remembering that her duty is to lay on Dad and purr. In between, however, I think we need to rename her Trouble with a capital T!

  • Part 103 – Kansas!

We are on the road again. Our 1st night is here in Ft Scott, KS. Miko has only gotten her lead wrapped up a dozen times.  Turns our my baby sister is a dirt roller like Sophia had been. She may be a keeper yet!
